OUR PURPOSE
Better understanding.
Earlier action.
IASMS is an independent publication exploring how aviation can recognise changing risk and respond in time.
What IASMS means
In-Time Aviation Safety Management System. We connect that emerging concept to the disciplines that already matter: SMS, assurance, human factors, operational collaboration and accountable decision-making.
IASMS is an emerging system-wide vision with documented research demonstrations and related industry capabilities. Status must be assessed programme by programme. Our permanent IASMS Research & Evolution record distinguishes historical foundations, current research and developing standards from approved operational implementation.
The site is for safety practitioners, aviation leaders, researchers and curious professionals. It is a knowledge publication—not an operational safety system, a regulator or a certification body.
THE HUMAN–AI PARTNERSHIP
AI intelligence. Aviation experience. Human oversight.
IASMS brings together AI-assisted research and analysis with the professional judgment of an experienced aviation safety practitioner. The human contribution draws on practical experience in safety management, risk assessment, operational oversight, training and human factors.
Sentinel, our AI editorial analyst, helps research public sources, connect developments and draft analysis. The aviation safety professional provides editorial direction and oversight: bringing operational context, challenging assumptions, setting boundaries and retaining authority over publication decisions.
This partnership keeps human expertise involved in shaping the questions and judging the significance of the answers. AI supports that work; responsibility for editorial decisions remains human.
Professional oversight describes how the publication is governed. It does not mean every article has been individually reviewed. A claim of professional human review is made only when that review has been completed and recorded for the specific article.
Evidence, judgment and a clear review status
The Global Progress Monitor records named programmes and separates verified facts from interpretation. AI output can be wrong: sources, uncertainty and corrections are therefore part of the product.
Each item distinguishes AI drafting, source checking, publication permission and professional human review. All six founding articles were professionally reviewed and approved on 16 September 2026. Recurring publishing is not active yet. Safety-critical interpretations, accident attribution, sensitive allegations and major editorial-policy changes require human review before publication.
Editorial independence
The professional contribution is made in a personal capacity. IASMS does not speak for an employer, regulator or industry organisation. No regulator, research agency or airline endorses this site merely because its public material is cited here.
Read with us. Question the evidence.
Begin with the research record, visit the intelligence desk, inspect the source library, or read our editorial policy. A public corrections channel will be listed before formal launch. Until then, do not send confidential, personal or operational material through the site.
